Sweet Sixteen

About

The word sweet sixteen originated from the number of girls in the Kenia School of Homeopathy. We are sixteen girls in the centre and we are the most privileged to be the pioneers of homeopathy in our country Kenya as an institution.

The sweet sixteen came from schools which fall under the Verkaart Development Team through Beasy, the Verkaart co-ordinator in Kenya. She connected us to Marie, who is now our beloved director at the 4kenia Foundation. The environment at the Kenia School of Homeopathy is conducive in terms of learning as we have a well ventilated class room, spacious rooms (dormitory) and a library.

Apart from learning, we came up with the sweet sixteen project which will enable us to achieve our goals. In this project we do various activities such as drawing and painting (art work), knitting, jewelry, weaving, pottery, composing poems and songs and some other decorations of clothes.

Dear Sweet Sixteens, I am as delighted as you are that the Verkaart Foundation set benevolent eyes on your community in Kwale, being one of the poorest districts in the Kenya. Everything looks great at the clinic. I love the pictures and you are all doing a great job with the site. I can’t wait to visit next time I am at the coast. Lots of love.
